Part Two: “Uncluttered” – March 13, 2024

Pastor Jim Bryant

Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out all the people buying and selling animals for sacrifice. He knocked over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves.  He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be called a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves!”  The blind and the lame came to him in the Temple, and he healed them.  (Matthew 21:12-14 NLT)

Clutter can accumulate in my mind.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.  (Romans 12:2 NIV)

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.  Philippians 4:8 (NLT)

Clutter can accumulate in my heart.

And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.  (Matthew 24:10 NKJV)

“It is impossible that no offenses should come…”  (Luke 17:1 NKJV)

Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you.  (Ephesians 4:31-32 NIV)

Clutter can accumulate in my soul.

All of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory.  (Romans 3:23 CEV)

The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  (Romans 6:23 TLB)

 1. Allow Jesus to come into my life.

Jesus entered the temple…  Matthew 21:12 (NLT)

2. Welcome the changes Jesus wants to make in my life.

…If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.  2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)

The blind and the lame came to him in the Temple, and he healed them. Matthew 21:14 (NLT)
