Give Thanks – November 6, 2024

Psalm 107:1 (NLT) 

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good!  His faithful love endures forever. 

According to research, thankfulness… 

• Helps you become a better friend. 
• Thankfulness helps you sleep better. 
• Being thankful also strengthens your relationships.  
• An attitude of gratitude can benefit the heart 
• Thankfulness is also linked with a better immune system 

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV)

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 

I can always thank God… 

1. For His plans. 

 Jeremiah 29:11 (NCV) 

…I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future.

Romans 8:28 (NCV) 

We know that in everything God works for the good of those who love him.  They are the people he called, because that was his plan.

Next, I can always thank God…   

2. For the People He’s placed in my life. 

Romans 1:8 (NLT)

Let me say first that I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith in him is being talked about all over the world.   

1 Corinthians 1:4 (NLT)

I always thank my God for you and for the gracious gifts he has given you, now that you belong to Christ Jesus.

Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God.

We always pray for you, and we give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.  For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for all of God’s people.

We always thank God for all of you and pray for you constantly.

Dear brothers and sisters, we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing.

Also, I can always thank God… 

3. For His Presence. 

Hebrews 13:5 (GNT) 

…I will never leave you; I will never abandon you. 

Isaiah 43:2-3 (TLB) 

When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up—the flames will not consume you.  For I am the Lord your God…  

I can always thank God…  

4. For His promises. 

Psalm 119:49-50 (NLT) 

Remember your promise to me; it is my only hope.  Your promise revives me; it comforts me in all my troubles.

John 14:2-3 (NIV) 

…I am going to prepare a place for you… And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

1 Peter 1:4-6 (TLB) 

God has reserved for his children the priceless gift of eternal life; it is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.  And God, in his mighty power, will make sure that you get there safely to receive it because you are trusting him…So be truly glad! There is wonderful joy ahead, even though the going is rough for a while down here.
