Acts 1:4-5 (CSB)
4 While he was with them, he commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for the Father’s promise. Which, he said, you have heard me speak about 5 for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit in a few days.
Acts 2:1-4 (CSB)
1 When the day of Pentecost had arrived, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like that of a violent rushing wind came from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were staying. 3 They saw tongues like flames of fire that separated and rested on each one of them. 4 Then they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them.
How to Yield to the Spirit:
1. Slow Down.
Galatians 5:25 (CSB)
25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.
2. Give Him the Right of Way.
Romans 8:12-13 (CSB)
12 So then, brothers and sisters, we are not obligated to the flesh to live according to the flesh, 13 because if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
3. Follow His Lead.
Romans 8:14 (CSB)
14 For all those led by God’s Spirit are God’s son
1 John 4:13 (CSB)
13 This is how we know that we remain in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit.
