Power of Acts: Power of the Gospel – January 28, 2024

Pastor Jeremy Mayol

Acts 28:30-31 (CSB)
30 Paul stayed two whole years in his own rented house. And he welcomed all who visited him,
31 proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and without hindrance.

What Does a Gospel-Centered Life Look Like?

1. Stand When You Want to Hide.

Acts 11:25-26 (CSB)
25 Then he [Barnabas] went to Tarsus to search for Saul,
26 and when he found him he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church and taught large numbers. The disciples were first called Christians at Antioch.

2. Stay When You Want to Hurry.

Acts 14:1-7 (CSB)
1 In Iconium they entered the Jewish synagogue, as usual, and spoke in such a way that a great number of both Jews and Greeks believed.
2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers.
3 So they stayed there a long time and spoke boldly for the Lord, who testified to the message of his grace by enabling them to do signs and wonders.
4 But the people of the city were divided, some siding with the Jews and others with the apostles.
5 When an attempt was made by both the Gentiles and Jews, with their rulers, to mistreat and stone them,
6 they found out about it and fled to the Lycaonian towns of Lystra and Derbe and to the surrounding countryside.
7 There they continued preaching the gospel.

3. Share When You Want to Hold.

Acts 20:35 (CSB)

35 In every way I’ve shown you that it is necessary to help the weak by laboring like this and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, because he said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
