Prayer 101 – January 19, 2025

Ephesians 3:11-12 (CSB) 

11 This is according to his eternal purpose accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. 12 In him we have boldness and confident access through faith in him. 

How to approach God in prayer: 

1. With BOLDNESS. CONFIDENCE. ACCESS. 

2. ONLY Through Jesus  

John 14:6 (CSB)

6 …I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 

John 15:5 (CSB) 

5 I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without me. 

To have boldness and confident access: 

1. I cannot trust in my moods and emotions 

2 Corinthians 10:5 (CSB) 

5 and every proud thing that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to obey Christ. 

2. Remind yourself of God’s promises in scripture 

Romans 3:24 (CSB) 

24 They are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. 

3. Go into his presence with praise 

Psalm 100:4 (CSB) 

4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and bless his name.
