In a new year with new changes and challenges, being rooted is an essential element for any follower of Jesus. This series covers all 95 verses of the book of Colossians and will include extra content and reflection questions to help you become “rooted and established in the faith” this year.  Our hope is that, through this series, you will see growth as a result of being rooted in Christ.

For this reason also, since the day we heard this, we haven't stopped praying for you. We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him: bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might, so that you may have great endurance and patience, joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the saints' inheritance in the light.
Colossians 1:9-12

1. What was the best assignment you have ever been given (home, school, work, etc)?

2. What do you think God’s special assignment looks like for you?

3. Can you easily name five things you are grateful? What are they?

4. On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being a little and 10 being a lot, how often do you pray and consider God in your decisions?
 
After watching part 1 of Rooted, ask God to define your special assignment within His master plan and give thanks for all He has done for you!

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For everything was created by Him, in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities - all things have been created through Him and for Him.

2. Giving Jesus first place in our thoughts is vital to exhibit godly actions. What is a recurring thought you have trouble giving to God?

3. Think of the most painful season you’ve experienced in your life. Paul says he rejoiced in his suffering for others. How can you use your suffering to serve others?

4. Having pure motives is a daily challenge. Paul wrote he wanted to be “fully known,” that is, he didn’t want to live with secrets or ulterior motives. How can you live your life this week being “fully known?”
